Oh no. I hope I don't lose my edge. I quickly drew a few warm up Caricatures to get ready for drawing at a Wedding tonight. I picked up the marker, and I just 'went for it'. Nice. Happy. for the First 2 pictures here. Great Party Entertainment.
But then I decided to tone myself down. In case tonight's crowd is.... um.... tight? Is that the word? I mean in case they won't loosen up. So I redrew them both ~ the 2nd ones here. Labeled with a #2 on the pictures. I don't feel like they're better, or even more 'acceptable' for a tight crowd. I HOPE I DIDN'T LOSE MY EDGE. I did not feel happy while drawing the 2nd pictures. And I'm hoping I'll have time to practice duller pictures even more before the performance. Which might get me out of the real Caricature style that I started off with today. (I didn't even have time to finish the 2nd picture.)

It felt Great to draw Caricatures at this Corporate Christmas Party. The Caricatures help the people to loosen up ~ they can't help but have a good time when the focus is on the fun pictures. And having drawn for this Client before, I felt like part of the group too. Yes ~ Caricatures do foster team spirit. I even managed to snap a few photos of the people's Reactions to their Caricatures.
BTW ~ My Client wanted people to Wear The Hat. It felt so interesting to watch how many different ways they approached the Hat. Some people just plopped it strongly onto their heads. Others plopped it on gently, barely touching the tops of their hairs. Some people looked at their reflection in the glass window that was beside us, checking out the Hat in all different angles. Sometimes to wear it back on their heads or off to the side. Some people gently prodded the Hat to fluff it into place..... Oh, and the 'where to put the dangly parts' ~ lol ~ that was another uniquely approached activity. Oh I had so much fun. People watching.
